Who wants to be a politician?

Career building is the most possesed topic of any young person.Today career options are chosen based on moneteray rewards offered in future.Choice has nothing to do with one’s aptitude,passion and interest.Parents decide what career will be pursued by  their child.Child has no say .Choice of parents is all based on one parameter and that is money and prestige  offered by the courece.

Politics is one of the most debated but neglected topic.India is a democratic country.We are governed by politicians electected by us.So fate of our country is decided by us.

But the fact of the matter is that we are a democratic county.People decide the fate of this country.India is a first class country and she needs  first class people in governance.We have best of the talent being groomed in best of the institutes across the crounty.They should choose politics as a career and help in the process of nation buildling.

Politics Should be rewarding career monetarily.Constitutional changes should take place so as to redesign compensation structure of MLA,MP,MLC, so as to attract best of the talent .Political parties also have to democratise and offer  rewarding career opportunitities to good performermers.Right now there is no transperency in expenditure and earnings of public figures.Clear guideline will help in establishing standard.

World has changed

We always talk about gender bias.We talk about woman getting no opportunities to advance .Women protagonist talk about females being supressed.But the situation as on date is contrarily opposite. Take a look at the culture when our forefathers never wanted our female family members to venture out and do job.Ours was a paternalistic society wherein male members were the sole bread earners.But our culture has evolved over a period of time. Today’s woman is a lot different than yesterday’s woman.Today’s woman is more literate,confident,outgoing,career oriented. Advertising reflects what happens in the society.Advertising is a mirror of the society.Advertising shows off woman as contemperory,outgoing and career oriented.If one analyses the composition of workfore of today’s corporate world ,one can make out that participation of females in the size of overall workforce has gone up. We as a paternalistic society envisioned only certain job profiles for females in the corporate world.We always thought that females can not do manly jobs. But today ‘s woman has broken glass celieng set by the paternalistic society and evolved to take up major jobs . But at the same time we have started witnessing that portion of woman community which is not competent.Such woman workforce got either dumped or being given inferior job profiles. What matters today is that whether you are competent.India’s 3/4 th GDP is controlled by private sector today.Private sector promotes merit.It is not concerned about caste,gender.It is only concerned about people who can take economy forward.

Agricultural Predicament

Mahatma Gandhi once said “Real India lives in rural villages”.Almost 70 percent of Indian population lives in rural areas.But today’s irony is that those who feed the nation go to bed without food.My understanding of rural India is a less developed countryside where the infrastructure is primitive, houses are of mud or brick but rarely painted well, the primary source of livelihood is agriculture, employment opportunities in the organized sector are negligible, eating choices are restricted to home-cooked simple food, schools are far away, health facilities are rudimentary and -- importantly -- the youth, while energetic and ambitious, are to be seen playing cards the whole day.Average income level is low.Penetration of consumer goods is low as compared to urban areas.Our rural folks have negligible access to banking services.Teledensity in rural area is far less than that in urban areas.

Indian GDP is growing consistently at the rate of 7 percent since 1991.Still our rural areas are underdeveloped.This indicates that fruits of higher economic growth are being enjoyed by people living in urban areas only.Rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. Indian marketeers  define today’s consumer as a person with higher disposal income aspiring for better lifestyle and convenience.But such consumer can be located only in urban area.If this is the fact, higher GDP numbers are meaningless. What has gone wrong with the rural conusmer?

Primary source of income of rural consumer is agriculture.Major agricultural land is not irrigated.So there is no option but to place bets on the arrival of good monsoon.Given the ecological  imbalance ,lately monsoon has become irratic.With the irregular monsoon,agricultural production has gone down. Also under the name of development ,agricultural land is being procured at throw away prices.Once agriculture was 50 percent of our GDP.Now it is less than 25 percent.As a consequence,agriculture has become less lucrative option to pursue as a profession. Urban migration has picked up momentum.Cities are getting more crowded which is resulting into regional imbalances.

Only government can correct the situation.Minimum support price paid by government for all kinds of crops is very low.Major beneficiaries are the middlemen who pocket major chunk of the retail price.Also infrastructure needed to store and transport agriculture produce is not in place.Major losses  occur at this stage.Some schemes have been floated by government  for the welfare of farmers.But major chunk of money leaks through a funnel called as beurocracy.

Correction in all the aspects stated above will improve the income levels and life of people living in the rural area.Then we can say that Indian GDP growth is all inclusive and Indian marketeers will stop discriminating between urban and rural consumers.
